dapada January 2nd

Dapa day, January 2nd, stylized as 'dapada', is a day meant to celebrate ourselves, each other, our cultures, and our communities from our households to beyond the visible universe.

We celebrate ourselves by meditating kindly on ourselves, acknowledging and learning from our quiet moments, our failures, and our successes.

We celebrate each other by meditating on relationships with friends and family and committing to make those relationships as good as we can.

We celebrate our cultures by meditating on our customs, our holidays, and our history.

We celebrate our communities in kind -- our kin, our clubs, our neighborhoods, villages, towns, cities, provinces, states, countries, and collectives of all kinds.

We graciously give and graciously receive.

We express gratitude.

We commit to lift the world up in the new year ahead.
